Our story

Our pets are family. They’re the ones who greet us at the door, make us laugh, and curl up beside us when we need comfort most. And when it comes to their care, we believe they deserve nothing less than the very best.

That’s why we started Sweetwater Veterinary: because the love you have for your pet deserves a veterinary practice that feels like home, not a corporation. We set out to create a different kind of clinic: one that’s local, woman-owned and built by people who believe your pet’s health should always come first, and that caring for them shouldn’t be a financial burden. That way, you can focus on what matters most: enjoying every moment with your best friend.

We’d love for you to come by and see what we mean.

Meet the Owner

Dr. Julia E. Daggett is a proud University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine alum (Go Gators!). She spends her weekdays in Ocala caring for some of the area’s high-level sporthorses as a full-time equine practitioner. But no matter how busy life gets, small animal wellness has always had her heart. Since graduating in 2021, she’s devoted her weekends to caring for dogs and cats.

When she’s not in the clinic or out on the farm, you’ll probably find Julia training for triathlons, playing tennis, or spending time with her own four-legged crew: her horse, Louie, and her tuxedo cat, BoBo.
