Questions? We’ve got you covered.

  • Core vaccines are the essential ones — recommended for every pet, no matter where they live or what their lifestyle is. They protect against serious, often fatal diseases that are widespread or pose a risk to humans, too.

Non-core vaccines are optional and based on your pet’s lifestyle or local risks — for example, if your dog goes to dog parks, or your cat spends time outdoors. We can help you decide which ones are right for your pet.

  • Core vaccines for dogs include:

DA2PP (also called DHPP or DAPP)
    Protects against four major diseases:

    • Distemper – a deadly virus affecting the lungs, stomach, and nervous system

    • Adenovirus-2 – causes hepatitis and respiratory infections

    • Parvovirus – a highly contagious and often fatal gastrointestinal disease

    • Parainfluenza – a respiratory virus that contributes to kennel cough

    Rabies

    • Protects against a fatal virus that affects the brain and nervous system

    • Legally required in most areas

    • Can be transmitted to humans (zoonotic)

Non-core vaccines for dogs (recommended based on lifestyle):

    • Bordetella (Kennel Cough): often required for boarding, grooming, or dog parks

    • Leptospirosis: protects against bacteria that can cause liver and kidney disease; also transmissible to humans

    • Lyme Disease: protects against tick-borne bacteria that cause fever, joint pain, and kidney issues

    • Canine Influenza: helps prevent dog flu (H3N8 and H3N2 strains)

  • Core vaccines for cats include:

    FVRCP
Protects against three common and serious viruses:

    • Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis (Herpesvirus-1): causes upper respiratory infections

    • Calicivirus: causes respiratory illness and mouth ulcers

    • Panleukopenia (Feline Distemper): a severe, often fatal virus affecting the immune system and intestines

    Rabies

    • Protects against a fatal virus transmissible to humans

    • Legally required in most places

    Non-core vaccine for cats:

    • FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus): protects against a contagious virus that weakens the immune system and can lead to cancer.
Recommended for kittens, outdoor cats, or cats that live with other felines.
